For more than 35 years, Habitat et Humanisme has been working to address the exclusion and isolation of people in difficulty by promoting housing, integration and the recreation of social ties. With a strong focus on innovation, the Movement has developed tools at the crossroads of the economic and the social.
ACTIONS FOR HOUSING
For more than 30 years, France has been going through an unprecedented housing crisis, of which people in difficulty are the first victims. This crisis is multifactorial, both quantitative and qualitative. Faced with this intolerable situation, Habitat et Humanisme is taking action at the local level:
To provide housing for people in need:
By producing very social housing through its property companies.
By mobilizing housing from private and public owners who entrust their properties to the company via the Propriétaires et Solidaires scheme.
To fight against urban segregation and promote a city open to all:
Habitat et Humanisme favors the location of housing in "balanced neighborhoods" and, through support, openness to the neighborhood and urban life.
To respond to the different facets of precariousness, particularly those related to isolation and age:
Habitat et Humanisme develops and experiments with various types of housing and innovative housing solutions, boarding houses, intergenerational housing, EHPAD, and any other collective housing that responds to specific situations encountered in the field.
ACTIONS FOR SOCIAL INTEGRATION
And to help people integrate into society, Habitat et Humanisme also works to support people in difficulty
Deep loneliness, increasing job instability, social exclusion and health problems particularly affect the elderly, students, single-parent families and isolated people in need. Finding a place for themselves in society and having it recognized by others is the support that Habitat et Humanisme's outreach program can provide to all Habitat et Humanisme tenants and residents.
