*Hops are subject to the same diseases as vines. As a result, non-organic cultivation can lead to multiple treatments (using synthetic products in particular), which are detrimental to biodiversity in the soil and in the vicinity of hop fields. **Organic hop growing favors the use of compost and other fertilizers of natural origin. This results in a high concentration of carbon in the soil. Less CO2 in the air = less warming of the atmosphere.
